Look at the whole picture …from a better perspective.

This site is here to help my current patients continue their journey and for the new or future patient to start their journey.

About Me

Hi!

I am Danielle. Most of you coming here know me and my story but for those of you who don’t…

Professionally

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and have my Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP). My main focus is working with patients to find holistic solutions to live the best, most functional life possible.

For me, holistic means I am looking at your whole picture… what’s contributed to where you’re at and what’s keeping you where you’re at. This includes looking at your medical health history, your upbringing, your past and current living environments, what you eat, your family, your stress, your good and bad habits, ALL the things. I take these factors into account and come up with a realistictreatment plan that works for you. That could mean:

  • Medications

  • Supplements

  • Lifestyle changes (diet, exercise)

  • Stress coping

Realistic expectations mean realistic outcomes

I’ve been in practice as a nurse practitioner since 2021 but have been in healthcare for over 20 years now in various roles and specialties.

Past experiences range from working as a CNA at a nursing home as my first healthcare experience, to a patient care tech on a neuro/trauma floor, to becoming a surgical tech working in orthopedics and then labor & delivery. When I became a nurse I stayed in the labor delivery sector for the most part but also branched into allergy/immunology, gastroenterology and urology while I was working on my nurse practitioner degree. I completed my Bachelor of Nursing at Grand View University in Des Moines and then my Doctorate of Nursing Practice (psychiatric/mental health program) through the University of Iowa.

Personally

I was born in SW Iowa but have spent the majority of my years in the Des Moines area. I graduated from Southeast Polk High School. I have 3 kids and if you were to ask me what I do in my free time I would say ‘I don’t get out much’. I’m an open book when it comes to life experiences and hope everyday that it continues to enrich how I practice.
